Professor Emeritus of Psychology, Oglethorpe University
My wifeand I raised five children. Our older two graduated from the public schools; we home school the younger ones. We enjoy spending time with our family and friends, walking with our dogs, and re-exploring the state of Michigan. I grew up in Battle Creek and graduated from Lakeview High School, but was in Atlanta for much of my education and career. My wife earned her graduate degree from Western Michigan University and we recently moved our family back to Michigan for the next chapter of our lives. I am a former competitive swimmer, triathlete, and YMCA swim coach. I enjoy following a variety of sports and cheering for my alma mater (WFU Demon Deacons). In my spare time I volunteer as a research coordinator for LifeWaters, a nonprofit therapeutic SCUBA training program for veterans and first responders with spinal cord injuries.
